Notes about the JD this year

Clarno to Cottonwood - About 70 miles

June 20-25th

It is a high water year, expect flows to be around 5000 CFS. Makes for easy rowing and mediocre fishing. Also, be prepared for a survival type experience with the coolest dampest spring on record. Cool weather gear and rain gear is a must!

Update 6/03/09

OK, first news, now we are legal as we lost two party members, Sam and Ryan (the kid) won't be joining us due to some an issue with "a shipment." We will miss you guys this year.

So Ryan (the grownup) has been out a couple of times practicing rowing so far and expects to go one more time before the JD. I think we may do a slightly more challenging section of the McKenzie on the 10th, if anybody wants to floatilla, it would be a good opportunity to sharpen your skills and you are welcome to join us.

Rowers will be at a premium this year so I hope that everyone that has some experience or interest in rowing a boat will be willing to pitch in.
